Ensamble Negra 40
The Ensamble Negra40 sets out on its course in late 2014, with a visit from Bogotá-based composer Rodolfo Acosta as a creative resident. That exchange concluded with the presentation — in Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata — of Ludus australis, by the Colombian musician.
Since then, the ensemble has stayed active, adding repertoire from the work of its members and bringing in new creators who propose pieces for us to take on.
We place special value on projects done in collaboration with other artists, creators and researchers, such as designer América Sánchez (Barcelona), the Saratoga Trio (Buenos Aires), musicians Elsa Justel (Mar del Plata) and Joan Izquierdo (Barcelona), and physicist Rodolfo Borzi (La Plata).
The Ensemble has received support from the Ministries of Culture of Argentina and Colombia. Its members are Sebastián Bauer, Gastón Mazières, Mariano Losi and Martín Virgili.
